Congratulations Diane Belcher!
Diane Belcher, a sociology student from New River Community College was among 20 students selected for the USA Today 2009 All-USA Community College Academic Team.
The 20 members of the elite team were selected from nearly 1,450 students nominated from 800 community colleges across America.
Beyond Belcher’s 3.87 GPA, the USA Today article notes her other achievements:
As member of student human-services club, coordinated a children’s book drive; spearheaded a “Luggage of Love” campaign that collected nearly 600 suitcases and backpacks for foster children; member, past president of local chamber of commerce; on task force involved in $10 million project on Blue Ridge Parkway.
