Celebrating the best and the brightest

The 55 top community college students from across Virginia were honored today.

Virginia Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling, Glenn DuBois, the chancellor of Virginia’s Community Colleges and the colleges’ presidents gathered to honor their academic accomplishments and contributions to their communities at an annual luncheon in Richmond.

Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society of two-year colleges, named the 55 students to the 2009 All-Virginia Academic Team. From these students, PTK tapped the “top ten” to become the First Virginia Team.
